A vitamin cocktail

Region of origin : the canton of Valais

Composition : this fruit contains a veritable “cocktail” of vitamins which give it real antioxidant and protective properties.

Production : for more than a century plum trees have found  the climate and soil of our canton ideally suited to  their needs. Since the end of the 1990s new varieties have been introduced to respond to market demands. Varieties such as Belle de Cacak, Hanita, Fertile de Cacak, Fellenberg, Valor and other Big Blues, Ariel and Elena, have appeared one after the other on the display racks.

The brand name Valais guarantees the authenticity and traceability of the accredited plum varieties. This brand name makes it possible for consumers to identify both their origin and mode of production. Adherence to the conditions laid down in the specifications is strictly monitored by an accreditation body. 

To be enjoyed both fresh and cooked. Plums can be prepared in many different ways.

Seasonal availability : Thanks to the new varieties, the harvest period now extends from the end of July until the end of September

Duration and conditions of conservation : plums keep for 2 to 3 days in the open air, or for one week in the bottom of the refrigerator.
