Preparation: strawberries need to be washed quickly without removing the stalk, under running water so that they don’t absorb the water. Most important, do not immerse them and remove the stalk after they have been strained.
Seasonality: summer, from mid-May until the end of August
Conditions and length of preservation: Best eaten on the day of purchase. They can be kept in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours.
