«Gilihüsine» - Early form of Hornussen
Gilihüsine - Revival of an ancient tradition On beautiful Sunday afternoons in the olden days, the people of Bettmeralp and Bettenwould go up to Lake Bettmersee to have some fun. Here on the slightly sloping terrain below the lake, they played Gilihüsine - a primitive form of Hornussen - with great passion and enthusiasm. We want to revive this beautiful old tradition at Bettmeralp. On Sunday, 15 September 2019, the 10th Gilihüsine Meet will take place on the field by Lake Bettmersee. Whether expert or beginner, everyone is welcome to watch the traditional game, have a go themselves or even enter a team. Programme Saturday, 14 September 2019 2:00 - 5:00pm at the "Maria zum Schnee" Chapel Hornussen for all under the guidance of the Obergerlafingen Hornussen Association. There is also an opportunity to play Gilihüsine. Sunday, 15 September 2019 10:00am at Lake Bettmersee Information on the technique and evolution of Gilihüsine. Followed by a game to let everyone try it. From 10:30am Gilihüsine group games (max. 16 groups) Hot and cold food available at the field. Everyone is welcome to join us in reviving this ancient tradition.
